COMMUNICATORS OF GOD’S BLESSINGS
BY FR VALENTINE NNAMDI EGBUONU, MSP
Few days ago, we celebrated the feast of the three Archangels Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel. Today, we are celebrating the feast of the Guardian angels. Although they rank low among the ranks of angels, but their services are very profound in every way. Traditionally, guardian angels are created to serve our needs. They are always at our services to guide us to fulfil God’s will here on earth so as to unite with God in heaven.
We probably would think that God communicates to us directly; but it is often not so. Our guardian angels are mediators between us and God. God’s grace, care, protection, heal, blessings and all the good things we receive from God comes through our guardian angels. The goal of these angels is to communicate God’s blessings and guide us in our choices in life that we may reunite with our Maker in heaven. As imperfect creatures, we are not worthy to have direct access to God’s blessings. This is where the services of our guardian angels are needed, for they convey God’s blessings and messages to us.
“For I tell you that in heaven their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.” (Mt 18:10). Each of us has a guardian angel in heaven interceding for us and communicating God’s will to us. So, let’s not forget each day to ask our guardian angel to guide and direct us in our life’s journey; and to make us docile to their guidance and direction so that we may do the will of God always reach our desired home in heaven. Amen.
