GOD’S WORD NEVER FAILS
BY FR VALENTINE NNAMDI EGBUONU, MSP
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” (Lk 21:33).
For every prayer request, God has a day and time to grant such request if he wishes to. But often time we worry and panic because we do not trust in God’s own time and in his word. Today, God reminds us that though everything may pass away but his word will not pass away until it is fulfilled. This assurance from God should strengthen our belief in him whenever we pray. It should give us that holy patience to wait on God and not grow weary in doing so.
Just as God lives forever, so does his word last forever. No matter the situation we are going through at the moment, we should not be despondent but cast our worries unto God and wait on him to fulfil his promises. Our God never lies. He will not hesitate to grant us any request that will do us good.
As we have just a day left to the end of the Church’s liturgical year, let’s be hopeful and stay positive on the good things to come. The end of this year could be the end of that pain, worries and setbacks that we have long awaited their end. Hold on a little more. Hang in there and trust in God. We must not give up our faith in God now. Because our moment of divine visitation may be very close.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
